Nasrin Asgari


Lyric-Coloratur Soprano


Persian-born Nasrin Asgari studied singing at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria. Nasrin took singing classes with Rohangiz Yachmi, in 2004, completing a Bacc. Art. at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and was awarded a master class scholarship at the "Festival Mitte Europa" in Hof, Germany.
Nasrin participated in master classes with Paul Esswood in Vienna and Thomas Tomaschke at the "Festival Mitte Europa" in Germany.

In 2008, she completed her master studies in singing at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Graz with Johanna Borowska. She graduated in 2008 with an MA with distinction.

Nasrin first professional appearance was at the concert première of "DIE BEWEGUNG IN DER TIEFE DES WASSERS" by Florian Gessler in the Minoritensaal in Graz. Nasrin also performed and sang at numerous concerts and masses in Vienna and Graz. Nasrin sang Konstanze in Mozart's "ENTFÜHRUNG AUS DEM SERAIL" at the "Festival Mitte Europa" in Germany.
Nasrin played the part of Mademoiselle Silberklang in Mozart's "DER SCHAUSPIELDIREKTOR" ("THE IMPRESARIO") in Vienna. She participated in the "Nannerl-Fest" in St. Gilgen and appeared as a soloist at the "Steirischer Herbst" festival in 2004 in a piece by Peter Lackner, together with the "Zeitfluss" ensemble. Nasrin sang in "Mozart Meine Liebe" in Leoben. She also parcipated in various opera projects including FIDELIO, IDOMENEO, CARMEN at the Theater an der Wien and at the "Styriate" Festival in Graz. At the première of Juri Geworkian's opera "TAROT" at the Perchtoldsdorf Cultural Center in Perchtoldsdorf, she performed the lead role of ‘Nicole.’
Nasrin debuted as Despina in "COSÍ FAN TUTTE" and 2008 - 2009 as Papagena in Magic Flute at the "Theater im Palais" in Graz .
Under the direction of Nicholas Harcnoncourt she performed in "IDOMENEO" at the "Styriarte" in Graz. In 2009, she sang the role of Flora in "LA TRAVIATA" at the Schloss Festival Kirchschtaetten and in summer 2010 she sang the role of Eleonore in "PRIMA LA MUSIC" from Antonio Salieri at the Schlossfestival Kirchstaetten, Lower Austria.

Nasrin was a founding member of a trio of ‘3 Iranian Soprano’s’. Nasrin Asgari's concert travels with the Three Soprano’s have already taken her to London, Vancouver, San Francisco, Paris, Vienna, and Graz. The 3 Iranian Soprano’s are now known as ‘LE TRE ORFEI.’
